Feudi di San Gregorio ‘Dubl’ Falanghina Brut Spumante, Campania, NV
This is a product of a union between the main protagonist in the renaissance of Southern Italian wines, Feudi di San Gregorio and top champagne producer Anselme Selosse
This cuvée was vinified using the traditional method and spent 18 months ageing on its fine lees adding texture and complexity.
The result is a fresh and aromatic wine with notes of crisp golden delicious apples, peach and floral hints of camomile, complemented by rounder notes of apricot. Captivating, fragrant and dynamic on the palate with a lively, persistent mousse and a long, pleasing finish.
Colomba Bianca, ‘Vitesse’, Sicily, Zibibbo 2019
Established in 1970, Colomba Bianca is the largest Sicilian grower cooperative and the biggest Italian producer of organic wine
Zibibbo, as it is known locally in Sicily, is the synonym for Muscat of Alexandria.
This crisp, fruity Zibibbo shows lifted notes of succulent white peach combined with soft floral aromatics of orange blossom and jasmine. Elegant and perfumed with a long, zesty citrus finish.
Colomba Bianca Grillo Kore 2019
Bursting with Sicilian sunshine this fragrant wine has a lifted bouquet of sun-ripened citrus and tropical fruits. Dry and crisp on the palate with a ripe roundness leading to a refreshing finish. A true expression of terroir crafted by the talented head winemaker Mattia Filippi.
Ca’Rugate, Bucciato, Soave Classico Superiore, 2019
The estate name “Ca’Rugate” comes from the volcanic hills where the vineyards are located.
The grapes are grown in the municipality of Monteforte d’Alpone in the Veneto region. The vineyard is situated on volcanic hillsides where the soil is rich in clay and basalt. The vines are under organic conversion and are cultivated without the use of synthetic treatments.
The result of this is a savoury and richly flavoured orange wine (due to a limited maceration on the skin) offering delicate notes of apricot, Mediterranean herbs and honey marinaded oranges with a long, refreshing finish.
San Marzano ‘Talò’, Salento, Malvasia Nera, 2019
Talo is the surname of one of the wine growers who has supplied San Marzano for many years.
The vineyard is located in Salento, Puglia. This wine has been aged in French oak barrels for four to six months imparting subtle complexity.
An intense and complex bouquet of ripe red fruits combined with hints of spice. A full-bodied wine with delicious flavours of Morello cherry and vanilla notes going through to a very smooth finish.
Donnafugata, `Sherazade` Nero d’Avola
The label is the perfect illustration of the Moorish influence on Sicily, Sherazade, fascinating female protagonist of the Arabian Nights, known for telling 1001 captivating story to the Sultan which caused the king to allow her a stay of execution in order to finish her story the following evening.
Sherazade has a brilliant ruby red colour with violet reflections. The nose offers a pleasantly fruity bouquet with fragrant notes of red plum and cherry, combined with light spicy balsamic scents. The palate is fleshy and perfectly reflects the bouquet revealing an extraordinary freshness. The fine–grained tannins, complete this fragrant and pleasant wine.
